 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. KOGI GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO GIFTS VEHICLES TO JUDGES, LAWMAKERS. (PHOTOS).




 Kogi Governor  Yahaya Bello Gifts Vehicles To Judges, Lawmakers 


The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello on Friday distributed several vehicles in different brands, makes and categories to lawmakers and judges in the state.


The Governor also gave out 25 ambulances to local governments and three brand new Fire Fighting Vans to the state’s Fire Service in Lokoja.


Naija News understands the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Umar Yusuf, got a Jeep and two supporting cars while his deputy, majority leader and other 22 members got one vehicle each.


Similarly, nine cars were presented to the judiciary for distribution to judges.


Governor Bello told the beneficiaries during a ceremony at the Muhammadu Buhari Square, Lokoja that the gesture is to encourage them to do better in serving the state in their various positions.


He also appreciated them for their hard work and commitment to the state so far.


A breakdown of the 25 ambulances distributed shows that each of the 21 LGAs would have one for their Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs), while three would go to the three Referral Hospitals in the three senatorial districts as well as one to Kogi Specialist Hospital.
