 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  ANAMBRA GOVT DECLARES MURDER OF ONE CHIEF SHADRACH OKOYE WANTED

The Anambra State Government has declared the suspect that used masquerade to kill a 71 year old man,  Chief Shadrach Okoye of Umuawulu  community in Awka South Local Government Area wanted.


Reacting to the murder of one, the Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji said that it is a criminal offence for any one to murder another.


Note that on the December 25, 2023, a 19 years boy was alleged to have used masquerade to kill one Chief Shadrach Okoye while the victim was seeing his visitor off.


According to the report, the suspect has been on the run since the incident occurred last year.


Commissioner Onyenji, then, called on the police to investigate the matter to ensure that justice prevailed

.

He made it clear that the state government has made a statement on the conduct of masquerades during festivals, mandating masquerades to entertain their guest at the community's square and in a civil manner.


The commissioner also appealed to the traditional rulers and presidents general of various communities to monitor their masquerades to ensure that they do not obstruct the roads nor tax people to pay money.


Mr Onyenji while sympatizing with the family of the deceased said that he has discussed the issue with the traditional ruler of Umuawulu Community.


He, then, called on every community to be part of the solution to the problem by providing the relevant information to the state government.
