 Pastor E.A Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has shed light on why he no longer employs female secretaries, linking the decision to his desire to avoid situations that could jeopardise his spiritual focus. While speaking on a subject, "Jonah must go", on Tuesday, being day 2 of the Holy Ghost Congress 2025 at the Redemption Camp, Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, he recalled that he once had a female secretary while serving at Ebute Metta in Lagos State, but decided to dismiss her when he moved to the camp, noting that the change was necessary for his spiritual discipline.  Anambra State Assembly Passes State Electoral Amendment Bill 2024

To align with the need for Anambra State to conduct local government elections, a bill to amend the Anambra State Electoral Law 2024 has been passed by the Anambra State House of Assembly.


The Anambra State Electoral Amendment Bill, 2024, has passed its first, second, and third readings and takes effect immediately. 


During the debate on the bill, the Majority Leader and member representing Ekwusigo Constituency, Sir Ikenna Ofodeme, emphasized that the amendment demonstrates the state’s and Assembly’s readiness to expedite the local government elections as demanded.


He highlighted that the amendment aims to address specific areas and ensure transparency and accountability for the people of Anambra during the elections.


Supporting the move, the members representing Ogbaru Constituency One, Mr Noble Igwe, and his Anambra West Counterpart, Mr Patrick Udoba, stated that the amendment is timely, given the need for the conduct of Local Government election.


The Speaker, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze read out the bill, and it was supported by the lawmakers through voice votes.
