STORM BORIS KILLED AT LEAST FIVE PEOPLE IN POLAND AND ROMANIA. (PHOTOS).

At least five people have died across Poland and Romania as Storm Boris wreaks havoc across Central and Eastern Europe. The slow-moving storm, which began on Friday, has caused record rainfall, flash floods, and high winds, with areas in Poland, Romania, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Hungary heavily affected.

Romania has been the hardest hit, with flooding reported in 19 localities across eight counties. Four bodies—three women and a man—were recovered in Romania. In Galati, one of the worst-affected regions, at least 700 homes were flooded, and hundreds of residents have been stranded. A Black Hawk helicopter was deployed for search-and-rescue missions.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis acknowledged the increasing impact of climate change, stating: "We are again facing the effects of climate change, which are increasingly present on the European continent, with dramatic consequences."

Storm Boris has brought a month’s worth of rain in just 24 hours, and the flooding continues to devastate communities as rivers burst their banks, blocking roads and damaging property.
