NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.  Bad Bunny could face ICE action at Super Bowl show, Trump official hints

ICE officials could appear at the 2026 Super Bowl, a Homeland Security adviser suggested Wednesday, three days after Bad Bunny was announced as the halftime headliner.

The comments came amid a heated political debate, with far-right commentators reacting strongly to the news. Conservative podcaster Benny Johnson asked Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski whether “ICE will have enforcement” at the Super Bowl. Lewandowski, a senior adviser to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, replied, “There is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else.” He added that enforcement would occur at all events, regardless of the performer, saying, “If there are illegal aliens, I don't care if it's a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else… We're going to do enforcement everywhere.”

Lewandowski also suggested that choosing performers like Bad Bunny could be divisive. “We should be trying to be inclusive, not exclusive. There are plenty of great bands and entertainment people who could be playing at that show that would be bringing people together and not separating them,” he said.

Legal experts note that Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in Puerto Rico, is a U.S. citizen, and ICE cannot legally detain him. Many of his fans are also U.S. citizens of Mexican American or Puerto Rican heritage. The remarks come as the Trump administration faces criticism over alleged racial profiling in immigration enforcement, with ICE currently involved in multiple lawsuits over the detention of Mexican Americans.
