 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8.  Bad Bunny could face ICE action at Super Bowl show, Trump official hints

ICE officials could appear at the 2026 Super Bowl, a Homeland Security adviser suggested Wednesday, three days after Bad Bunny was announced as the halftime headliner.

The comments came amid a heated political debate, with far-right commentators reacting strongly to the news. Conservative podcaster Benny Johnson asked Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski whether “ICE will have enforcement” at the Super Bowl. Lewandowski, a senior adviser to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, replied, “There is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else.” He added that enforcement would occur at all events, regardless of the performer, saying, “If there are illegal aliens, I don't care if it's a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else… We're going to do enforcement everywhere.”

Lewandowski also suggested that choosing performers like Bad Bunny could be divisive. “We should be trying to be inclusive, not exclusive. There are plenty of great bands and entertainment people who could be playing at that show that would be bringing people together and not separating them,” he said.

Legal experts note that Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in Puerto Rico, is a U.S. citizen, and ICE cannot legally detain him. Many of his fans are also U.S. citizens of Mexican American or Puerto Rican heritage. The remarks come as the Trump administration faces criticism over alleged racial profiling in immigration enforcement, with ICE currently involved in multiple lawsuits over the detention of Mexican Americans.
