The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, says the Federal Government has thrown open all records of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway for scrutiny, reaffirming that the multi-billion-naira project is being executed with “full transparency and zero secrecy.”

Speaking this Friday during the temporary opening of Section 1 (47.47km) of the highway in Lagos, Umahi described the project as one of President Bola Tinubu’s major legacy infrastructure programmes and said it has already surpassed early delivery targets.

According to him, the completed section — from Ahmadu Bello Way to Eleko Village — features reinforced concrete pavement, street lighting, CCTV coverage and emergency response points, reflecting the administration’s commitment to quality.

Umahi disclosed that the ICPC and EFCC were formally invited by the government to review all documents related to the highway and other Hitech-executed projects nationwide.

“We have nothing to hide. We asked ICPC and EFCC to audit and verify everything. It shows the transparent nature of Mr President’s administration,” he said.

The minister added that he is prepared to release full cost details at any time, including drawings, bills of quantities and item-by-item breakdowns.
