 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. George Clooney mourns sister Ada Zeidler’s passing

George Clooney’s sister, Adelia “Ada” Zeidler, passed away from cancer on Friday at the age of 65.

According to her obituary, Zeidler died peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. Clooney paid tribute to his sister, saying, “My sister, Ada, was my hero. She faced down cancer with courage and humor. I’ve never met anyone so brave. Amal and I will miss her terribly.”

Zeidler spent many years as an elementary art teacher at Augusta Independent School in Kentucky. She was also active in her community, leading a local book club, participating in the Augusta Art Guild, and serving as grand marshal of Augusta’s Annual White Christmas Parade.

She is survived by her parents, Nick and Nina Clooney, brother George Clooney, her husband Kenny, children Nick Zeidler and Allison Zeidler Herolaga, and other family members.
