 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Kaduna Govt Seals Illegal Colleges Of Health Sciences


The Kaduna State Government has commenced the sealing of illegal Colleges of Health Sciences operating across the state as part of efforts to ensure quality healthcare training and protect public health.


The action is being carried out by the Kaduna State Committee on Private Health Establishments to enforce regulatory guidelines and prevent unaccredited institutions from operating. 


Authorities say the move is aimed at stopping such institutions from misleading the public and producing unqualified health workers, which could pose serious risks to healthcare delivery.


Speaking on the development, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Hajiya Umma K. Ahmed, advised prospective students and parents to verify the accreditation status of health institutions before seeking admission. 


She stressed that enrolling in approved and accredited institutions is critical to safeguarding students’ futures and maintaining professional standards in the health sector.


The commissioner also commended Governor Senator Uba Sani for his leadership and commitment to strengthening the state’s health sector through reforms focused on quality, safety, and accountability.


The state government reaffirmed its determination to continue monitoring private health training institutions to ensure full compliance with established regulations.
