Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently spending time in Europe with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, ahead of a planned trip to the United Kingdom next month, PEOPLE understands.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed on Friday, June 26, that they will travel to Britain in July for a series of engagements connected to preparations for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
Their children are expected to join them for the visit, although Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, are not anticipated to take part in public appearances.
The upcoming travel would mark the first visit to the UK for the children since 2022, when they were in the country during the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Reports published on Saturday suggested the Duke of Sussex is reviewing aspects of the trip following a decision related to his request for taxpayer-funded police protection.
PEOPLE understands the previously announced plans for the visit remain in place. Security arrangements continue to be a key consideration for the Duke, with existing processes involving the relevant UK protection authorities still under review.
Harry has previously spoken about concerns regarding the level of security provided for his family during visits to the UK following changes to his official police protection in 2020.
Buckingham Palace confirmed on June 19 that King Charles has made accommodation available to the family on a royal estate during their stay, although the exact location has not been disclosed.
If the Sussexes stay at a royal property, they would fall under the security arrangements in place at that residence.
The family is expected to split their stay between royal accommodation and private arrangements during the trip.
