 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Oshiomhole: Abuja politicians threatening bloodbath in Edo are living in a fool’s paradise


Adams Oshiomhole, senator representing Edo north, has condemned threats of violence during the state’s governorship election.

Speaking to journalists shortly before casting his vote in Iyamoh Primary School, ward 10 PU1, Etsako West LGA, the former governor said instigators of violence are “living in a fool’s paradise”.

“I am happy, and I pray that the city remains peaceful,” he said. 

“A couple of people have called me, telling me they have started voting. I asked about the environment, and they said it is peaceful. I am very certain that the situation will prevail everywhere as I pray it is going.”

He added that the integrity of the electoral process is more important than the outcome.

He also alleged that an acting national chairman sits pretty in the nation’s capital city of Abuja to issue threats as Edo voters take to polling units. 

“Some people are threatening that they will be violence… one of the acting national chairmen said they are going to do bloodbath and so on. He is in Abuja and he is wishing they could do that kind of thing,” Oshiomhole added.

“By the way these people are conducting themselves, you know that those guys are living in a fool’s paradise.”

On September 14, Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo, declared the governorship election in the state “a do-or-die affair”.
