Austin Powers costumes expected to sell for thousands at auction

Costumes worn by Dr. Evil and Mini-Me in the 'Austin Powers' films are expected to sell for thousands of dollars at auction, though not quite reaching the million-dollar mark.

The two gray Nehru-style suits—one worn by Mike Myers and the other by the late Verne Troyer—are part of Propstore’s Winter Memorabilia Auction, with bidding open until December 5. Myers’ suit appeared in “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” in memorable scenes, including when Dr. Evil demanded $100 billion from the United Nations and confronted his son Scott, played by Seth Green. Troyer’s Mini-Me suit was featured in “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me” during the scheme to steal Austin Powers’ mojo.

The auction includes a Mini-Me mannequin for displaying the costume, adding a unique collectible element. Dr. Evil’s suit is estimated to fetch between $20,000 and $40,000, while Mini-Me’s is expected to sell for $8,000 to $16,000. Collectors and superfans of the franchise are likely to be the primary bidders for these iconic pieces of movie history.
