 Alleged $1.5m Fraud:   Witness Tells Court Funds Came into Defendant’s Account in Multiple Tranches The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, June 29, 2026, presented its third prosecution witness (PW3), Levi Amanda Opice, a Compliance Officer with Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), in the ongoing trial of Ifoma Immanuel before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja, over an alleged $1.5 million fraud. Immanuel is standing trial alongside his company, Intermediate Investment Holdings Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and forgery involving the sum of $1.5 million. POLICE ARREST FOUR ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS AND RECOVERED ITEMS IN BAUCHI


On 11th November 2025 at about 0340hrs, the command received a formal complain from one Everest Jonathan of Behind V.I.O office along Jos road Bauchi, at B' Divisional Police Headquarters, indicating that a group of suspected armed robbers numbering about five (5) invaded his house around 0210hrs in the night, and robbed him and other occupants some valuable items including one (1) Smartphone android, one (1) keypad phone, one (1) travelling bag, two (2) set of snickers, a set of clothes among others. 


On receipt of the report, a team of detectives led by Divisional Police Officer (DPO) CSP Holman Simon immediately visited the scene and assessed the level of damage and loss.


A preliminary investigation revealed that one Alhassan Jibrin, a.k.a. Babani Biri, a 20-year-old male of Danjuma Goje Area of Bauchi, unknowingly abandoned his Android mobile phone during their robbery operation.


Moreover, further investigation led to the apprehension of Lawan Adamu, a male from the Wayan Makafi area of Bauchi; Lawan Idris, a 20-year-old male of Behind Old Airport, Bauchi; and Muhammad Yau, also known as Madugu, a 22-year-old male of Behind Emir’s Palace, Bauchi, in connection with the crime.


During interrogation, the suspects confessed to having criminally conspired among themselves and invaded houses located behind V.I.O. Office along Jos Road, Bauchi, where they attacked innocent occupants and robbed them of their valuables on different occasions.


Exhibits recovered include; 

1. One (1) travelling back

2. Two (2) sets of clothes 

3. Two (2) sets of sneakers

4. Two (2) Shap cuttlases

5. One (1) Android phone 

6. One (1) Keypad mobile phone 

7. Two (2) Torchlights, among others.


The Command is also intensifying efforts to apprehend other accomplices currently at large.


The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu psc(+), mni directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation, after which the suspects will be profiled and charged to court for the established offences.
