UK leader Starmer battles to keep job as Mandelson-Epstein revelations trigger crisis    British Prime Minister Keir Starmer was fighting for political survival on Monday as his authority within the Labour Party sharply eroded less than two years into his term. Under mounting pressure from party lawmakers, Starmer was scrambling to head off a potential revolt that could cost him the leadership after a damaging scandal involving his appointment of Peter Mandelson as Britain’s ambassador to Washington.  Cuba bars international airlines from refueling as Trump increases pressure

Cuba announced that international airlines will no longer be able to refuel on the island due to a shortage of aviation fuel, a crisis worsened by U.S. threats of tariffs on countries supplying oil to the nation. The government said the shortage, expected to begin Monday, could disrupt flights at all of Cuba’s international airports and may continue for about a month.

The Cuban government has implemented measures to manage the energy crisis, including restricting fuel sales, reducing the workweek for state-owned companies, shortening school days, and closing some tourist facilities. Moscow called Cuba’s fuel situation “truly critical” and criticized U.S. pressure for exacerbating the crisis. Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla condemned Washington’s tariff threats as “blackmail and coercion,” while Mexico announced plans to send humanitarian aid and explore diplomatic avenues to resume oil shipments to the Caribbean island.
