 Mali’s Tuareg rebels say Russian fighters must withdraw from country Mali’s Tuareg rebels, involved in a continuing uprising, including the assassination of the country’s defence minister, have said they want to drive the military government’s Russian backers out of the country, Al Jazeera reported. Mohamed Elmaouloud Ramadane, a spokesperson for the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA), told the AFP news agency during a visit to Paris to meet French security and defence officials that his movement’s “objective” was for Russia’s Africa Corps to “withdraw permanently” from the country. Russian fighters backed the military government of President Assimi Goita, as it came under coordinated attack from an alliance of Tuareg separatists, Fulani and Arab rebels, and al-Qaeda-linked fighters, who entered the capital Bamako and made gains across several northern and central cities, including Kidal and Sevare. “We have no particular problem with Russia, nor with any other country. GOVERNOR INUWA YAHAYA DISSOLVES CABINET


The transformation of the jewel in the savannah in the past three years is the collective hard work of members of the state executive council. 

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya stated this while thanking  the state executive council members, as he announced the dissolution of the state cabinet at the fifty third Gombe state executive council meeting.

Emmanuel Akila reports that the cabinet members appreciated the opportunity to serve the state in various capacities. 

                  

The council meeting chaired by governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya takes a comprehensive review of members performance since their inauguration, assessing their contributions to the overall development of the state in about three years. 

In a farewell address, governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya announced  dissolution of the state executive council.


The seventeen dissolved commissioners were directed to handover the affairs of their ministries to permanent secretaries on or before Friday 10th of this month. 

The Council had set April tenth 2026 as deadline for political appointees aspiring for elective offices in the 2027 general elections, to resign their appointments.
