Bonnaroo Music Festival canceled for 2027 as severe storms force venue to recover and repair damage The Bonnaroo Music Festival will take a year off in 2027 as severe storms have left the event’s Tennessee venue in need of time to recover and undergo repairs. The festival, held on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, about an hour outside Nashville, draws thousands of music fans each year. However, repeated rounds of intense weather have taken a toll on the property, particularly the main festival grounds. The venue had already undergone several improvements designed to better withstand severe weather, including an upgraded drainage system, 135 acres of new grass and 4.5 miles of new roads. Despite those efforts, back-to-back years of storms have continued to create difficult conditions. Festival officials said the property had limited time to recover between storms, including a period of heavy rain that hit on a Sunday during this year’s event.  Algeria sends fighter jets to Niger after unrest in Niamey


Algeria sent four fighter jets to Niger following a mutiny by a group of soldiers in the capital, Niamey.


Two patrols comprising four Sukhoi Su-30 aircraft landed at Niamey airport, accompanied by an aerial refueling plane, Algeria’s Defence Ministry said.


The aircraft were deployed at the request of Nigerien authorities on “a mission to support the Nigerien army in confronting an attempt to destabilise the brotherly state of Niger,” it added.


The deployment was ordered by Algerian Army Chief of Staff Said Chengriha under instructions from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to strengthen strategic cooperation between Algeria and Niger, “particularly in the military field.”
