 ANAMBRA SECURITY: CP NNANNA URGES PRESIDENTS-GENERAL OF COMMUNITIES TO PRIORITISE SECURITY, STEP UP SUPPORT FOR FIGHT AGAINST CRIMINALITY The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, has called on Presidents-General of communities across the State to place the security and wellbeing of their respective communities at the forefront of their leadership responsibilities. The Commissioner made the call on 4th September 2026 while receiving the Association of Presidents-General of Communities in the State. He noted that the Presidents-General occupy strategic positions in their respective communities and therefore have a crucial role to play in supporting the Police and other security agencies in the fight against criminality.  ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND HOSTS POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION SECRETARY ON MONITORING TOUR OF RECRUITMENT EXERCISE IN SOUTH-EAST


The Anambra State Police Command today, 17th April 2026, received the Secretary of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, on an official monitoring tour of the ongoing police recruitment screening exercise across the South-East zone.


The visit forms part of the Commission’s oversight responsibility to ensure that the recruitment process is conducted in line with established guidelines, with emphasis on transparency, fairness, and merit.


During the tour, the PSC Secretary assessed the screening procedures and interacted with officials, including the Police team, the Police Service Commission team, Federal Character Commission representatives, as well as other relevant stakeholders. He noted that the Commission will continue to collaborate with the Command to improve sensitization efforts and encourage more indigenes to join the Force. He further commended the level of organization and professionalism displayed by the Anambra State Recruitment Screening Team.


The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, appreciated the visit and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to upholding the highest standards throughout the exercise. He noted that all necessary measures have been put in place to guarantee a credible and hitch-free recruitment process.


The Command further assures members of the public that the exercise remains transparent and strictly merit-based, while urging applicants to adhere to all laid-down guidelines.


The Anambra State Police Command remains dedicated to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity and integrity of the Nigeria Police Force.
