 ANAMBRA SECURITY: CP NNANNA URGES PRESIDENTS-GENERAL OF COMMUNITIES TO PRIORITISE SECURITY, STEP UP SUPPORT FOR FIGHT AGAINST CRIMINALITY The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, has called on Presidents-General of communities across the State to place the security and wellbeing of their respective communities at the forefront of their leadership responsibilities. The Commissioner made the call on 4th September 2026 while receiving the Association of Presidents-General of Communities in the State. He noted that the Presidents-General occupy strategic positions in their respective communities and therefore have a crucial role to play in supporting the Police and other security agencies in the fight against criminality.  YOBE POLICE ARRESTS THREE TRANSFORMER VANDALS IN BADE LGA, YOBE STATE 


The Yobe State Police Command has arrested three suspected transformer vandals and recovered stolen components in Bursari Local Government Area.


Police said operatives of the Garin Alkali Division, acting on credible intelligence, arrested Muhammad Auwali, 51, Inusa Lawan, 53, and Hassan Ibrahim, 27, all from Bursari and Gashu’a axis of Bade LGA. A fourth suspect identified as Ozu is still at large.


According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the suspects vandalized a transformer at the YTV Booster Station in Garin Alkali on April 14, 2026. They dismantled the equipment and sold part of the metal components.


The suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation. They admitted selling some of the parts to Hassan Ibrahim for ₦250,000, with ₦150,000 already paid. Police have recovered parts of the vandalized transformer.


Commissioner of Police Usman Kamfani Jibrin commended the operatives and ordered intensified operations across the state. He warned scrap metal dealers against buying suspected stolen items, adding that offenders will face the law.


The suspects will be charged to court after investigation.
