POLICE RESCUE 2 TEENAGE GIRLS ABDUCTED FROM TARABA, ARREST 2 SUSPECTS IN KIRFI LGA

Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have rescued two 13-year-old girls and arrested two suspects in connection with criminal conspiracy and abduction in Kirfi Local Government Area.

According to the information, the arrest and rescue  were carried out by DPO Alkaleri Division and team, who later transferred the case to Kirfi Division on 15th June, 2026 at about 1400hrs based on jurisdiction. The operations followed a complaint lodged on 10th March, 2026 by a 57-year-old father of one of victims, a resident of Fangari Hamlet via Bali LGA, Taraba State. The complainant stated that his 13-year-old daughter, Aisha and her friend Zainab, also 13-year-old, left home and all efforts to trace them proved abortive.

Subsequently, police intelligence led investigators to Bara Town, Kirfi LGA, Bauchi State, where the victims were found. Further investigation revealed that one Auwal Muhammad and Abdulgaffar Musa, both 20-year-old, of Unguwar Zangoma via Bara Town  criminally conspired and took the minors from their village in Taraba State to Bara Town in Bauchi State without parental consent.

Consequently, both suspects have successfully been arrested. Meanwhile, efforts are on top gear to reunite the rescued girls with their parents. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Bauchi for further action and prosecution.

CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+) warned that the Command will not tolerate any act of child abduction or exploitation. He further urged parents and guardians to monitor their children closely and report any suspicious movement to the nearest police station.

The Command remains committed to protecting vulnerable persons and bringing all perpetrators of child-related crimes to justice.
