STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi. As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child. I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them. Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour. My prayers are with the family. According to sources,the Environmental Protection Agency {LASEPA}said with the effect from 17 August 2014,anybody caught smoking in public places in Lagos state will be arrested and prosecuted.LASEPA will hold a stakeholder's meeting tomorrow May 13 to sensitise people in compliance with the law which banned smoking in all public places in the state.The General manager of LASEPA,Engr Rasheed Shabi said ''When the smoking bill was signed into law by Governor Babatunde Fashola on 17th February 2014,six months grace was given to enable proper sensitization to be carried out before enforcement.With the passage of the law,smokers have been banned from smoking in places such as hospital,eateries,hotels,schools,creche,restaurants,bars,school buses,event centres and book shops.We have engaged hoteliers and told them to creat a place where smokers can smoke,but they can't smoke in public places.
