 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. TRIBUNAL STRUCK OUT JIMI AGBAJE'S PETITION,AND CONFIRMS AMBODE APPOINTMENT AS GOVERNOR TODAY.

                The Tribunal had today wednesday struck out the Petition filed against the election of Mr Akinwunmi Ambode of the APC by the PDP candidate,Mr Jimi Agbaje,following a preliminary objection filed by the counsel to the APC candidate,Chief Wole Olanipekun {SAN}.In reaction  to the ruling of the state election petition Tribunal headed by Justice Mohammed Sirajo,the Governor of Lagos State Ambode said that ''I am elated at the ruling of the tribunal which is an affirmation of my victory at the polls.On April 11,2015,the people of Lagos spoke with their votes about continuity and that is what the tribunal has just reaffirmed.The task ahead requires concerted efforts from everyone.I urge all my opponents to put the election struggles behind them and in the spirit of sportsmanship join hands with me to take Lagos to the next level''.The statement signed by his Chief press secretary,Habib Aruna further said that ''It has needless in the first place for the PDP to have petitioned my election which was adjudged to be free,fair and credible.Now that the right thing has been done which of course the people expected,we should all come together above partisanship and move the state forward''.
