TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. Today thursday,it was reported by Premuim Times at least 105 soldiers of the 157 Battalion,including their commanding officer,are feared missing after they came under intense attack from Boko Haram insurgents at Gudunbali,Borno state,yesterday wednesday.According to one of Premuim Times sources,the terrorists also captured a T-72 tank as well as several artillery weapons from the unit.''Gudunbali was attacked this morning and some weapons were captured from the battalion.Two officers and 105 soldiers are still missing.They captured a T-72 tank from the unit and some artillery weapons were also captured.The commanding Officer {CO} of the battalion is yet to be seen but no one has been confirmed dead yet''.One more photo below.
