 Meta to end end-to-end encryption for Instagram direct messages Meta is ending end-to-end encryption for Instagram direct messages, a feature the company says will no longer be available after May 8, 2026. Unlike WhatsApp, Instagram never offered encryption to all users or as a default; only select users in certain regions could opt in on a per-chat basis. A Meta spokesperson explained that the decision comes due to low adoption. “Very few people were opting in to end-to-end encrypted messaging in DMs, so we’re removing this option from Instagram in the coming months,” the spokesperson said. “Anyone who wants to keep messaging with end-to-end encryption can easily do that on WhatsApp.” Meta’s messaging strategy has shifted multiple times over the years. WhatsApp chats have been encrypted since 2016, and the company began rolling out default encryption for Messenger in 2023.                       According to sources,the Buhari Media Support Group {BMSG} has said that the anti corruption war waged by President Muhammadu Buhari is yielding success which has led to the delisting of the country from the list of corrupt countries as compiled by Transparency International {IT}.In a press statement signed by the group's national coordinator,Muhammad Labbo and the secretary,Cassidy Madueke yesterday wednesday in Abuja,the group said that the campaign is gradually chsnging the image of the country to one where corrupt acts are no longer welcomed.The group added that in the latest ranking of corrupt countries in the world over by TI,the name of Nigeria is conspiciously missing.According to the BMSG,the anti-corruption war of the president,despite the cynicism of partakers in the ruinous looting of the country,is having the desired impact,nationally and internationally and has unmasked the true colour of many prominent persons and wealthy individuals in Nigeria.Well i thank God for this good new.One more photo below.
