TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. As the death toll of Kenya 6 storey building collapse reaches 21,the aid workers said hopes were fading of finding more survivors in the rubble today.Police said they were questioning the owner of the six storey residential block that collapsed late on friday after days of heavy rain and floods,but no one had been charged.Residents and rescue workers have been sifting through piles of broken concrete at the site in the eastern Huruma suburb ever since,rescuing 135 people,according to the latest police figures.But conditions were getting more challenging.Red Cross official Anthony Mwangi said ''In conditions of no air,firt,no food,no water,it's very difficult for that person to stay alive''.Authorities had condemned the 198 room building and there has been no official explanation of why it remained occupied.More photos below.
