Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. The Ashalim tower is estimated to cost 570 million dollars,it will rise to 240 metres twice the size of the current tower in California,which is at 137 metres.The tower will hold over 55,000 projecting mirrors it will be surrounded by a field of mirrors covering over 300 hectares which is like more the size of 400 football pitches.The tower is expected to provide 121 megawatts or two percent of Israel's electricity needs enough to supply 120,000 homes with clean energy.Israel is hoping by 2020,10 percent of its total electricity consumption will be generated by solar.Erab Gartner ,who heads the Megalim consortium managing the project said ''The government agreed to move ahead with this technology even though we do not hide the fact that it is more expensive than traditional electricity production,precisely to achieve lower costs over time''.More photos below.
