 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. Image may contain: 2 people, people standing, stripes and shoes                                            The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,today,February 23rd,2017,arraigned the duo of Aneke Collins Nnamdi and Sifon Samuel Israel both students of Federal Polytechnics,Oko,Anambra before Justice Theophine U. Oguji of the State High Court sitting in Awka,Anambra State,on a four count charge bordering on Conspiracy and Stealing.
First City Momument Bank had petitioned the Commission that they received report from one of their customers,Girls Secondary School,Awka,over an unauthorized web trabsfer of over N10 million on their account with the bank.The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to them.In view of their plea,the prosecution counsel,M. T. Iko asked the court to fix a date for the commencement of trial and urged the court to remand the defendants in prison custody.However,the defense counsel,J.N. Okongwu asked for a short date to file his bail application.The case was adjourned to 22 March and 4,9 May,2017 for trail.The defendant are to be remanded in prison custody pending the determination of their bail.
