 SENATE ADJOURNS EMERGENCY PLENARY ON STATE POLICE OVER REP’S DEATH. The Senate today suspended consideration of the highly anticipated State Police Bill and all other legislative business at its emergency plenary session to honour the memory of Hon. Yaya Tongo, a member of the House of Representatives, whose death cast a sombre mood over the National Assembly. The upper chamber had reconvened from recess amid expectations that lawmakers would accelerate action on the proposed constitutional amendment seeking to establish state police across the federation, a measure widely seen as a major step in the ongoing effort to reform Nigeria’s security architecture. However, proceedings were cut short after Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the death of Tongo, who represented the Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency of Gombe State in the House of Representatives. NIGERIAN DRUG LORD ''UCHENNA'' ARRESTED YESTERDAY IN INDIA.{PHOTO}.

Image result for drug lord uchenna                                                                                       According to Hindu Newspaper,as much as 170 grams of cocaine and 590 grams of fine-quality herein estimated to be worth a consolidated amount of 2 crore,about $320,000 in the underground drug market were seized from the accused identified as 28 years old Uchenna as pictured above from Nigeria,Indian Ajay {33} and his associate Naresh Kumar {39},from Mohan Garden in West Delhi's Uttam Nagar.Mr Ravindra Yadav,joint Commissioner of police {crime} disclosed that Uchenna was arrested after a trap was laid for him near a local taxi stand at Dwarka Mor between 2pm and 3pm on Saturday.
In the sexond incident,a tip-off led a Crime Branch team to Ajay and Naresh Kumar from near the Local TVS Bajaj showroom on the Mor road leading towards Vikas Nagar.The duo were apprehended and 260 grams of fine quality heroin was seized from Ajay.The heroin is roughly worth 50 Lakh in the  international market,according to the police.
