 LAGFERRY BOAT FIRE The Lagos State Ferry Services (LAGFERRY) earlier today had a fire on one of its boats, Igbega Eko, at the Ipakodo Terminal in Ikorodu. Preliminary reports indicate that the fire started at about 6.45 a.m. There were 19 passengers on board. The inferno started after passengers had boarded the boat to depart the terminal.  All passengers were rescued alive. Nine of them who, unfortunately, sustained burn injuries are receiving medical attention at the Ikorodu General Hospital. They will be treated free of charge. Emergency protocols were promptly activated at the scene. LAGFERRY sincerely appreciates all responders, Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), private boat operators, and other rescuers who worked tirelessly to contain the situation. The Agency also commended the passengers for their cooperation during the evacuation. NIGERIA ADOPTS 'WHO' GUIDELINES,REDUCE TIME FOR DRUG RESISTANT TUBERCULOSIS TREATMENT.{PHOTOS}.

Related image                               The Federal Government has flagged off a new shorter regimen for multi-drug-resistant {MDR} Tuberculosis treatment in Nigeria.The new regimen will reduce the time taken to treat drug-resistant tuberculosis patients from about 20 months to about 9 months.The Minister of Health,Professor Isaac Adewole,who disclosed this on Monday during the flag off of the regimen and the commissioning ceremony of the first extensively drug-resistant TB ward and fully equipped MDR ward in Ibadan,the Oyo state capital,also called on all TB sufferers to present themselves for treatment at the nearest Federal government health facility free of charge.One more photo below.
