 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. LSACA TARGETS 36,000 FOR HIV TEST IN IKORODU.

Image result for HIV           The Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA) is targeting 36,000 residents of Ikorodu division to be screened for HIV with focus on Imota, Igbogbo/Baiyeku, Ijede, Ikorodu West and Ikorodu North Local Council Development Areas.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, Dr. Oluseyi Temowo disclosed this during the flag-off ceremony to commence the screening exercise at the Ajegunle - Ikorodu community in Ikorodu.
Dr. Temowo stated that efforts were being put in place to screen as many residents of Lagos State as possible to achieve the global 90-90-90 initiative, stressing that the present administration is passionate about the health of Lagos residents.
He therefore called on the Baale and the Elders of the Community to help mobilize their wives and children including their neighbours to come out en-masse to access the free HIV Counseling and Testing Services being carried out by the Agency in the area.Responding, the Baale of Ajegunle-Ikorodu Community, Chief A.O Oladunjoye thanked the State Government for the initiative and also expressed gratitude for the construction of the inner road, street lighting and medical outreach to enhance the health of the residents.
