 Press Release Nigeria, France Strengthen Global Migration Partnership The Nigerian government is taking proactive steps to prevent illegal migration, by deploying cutting-edge technology to monitor and manage its land, maritime, and air borders.  The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who stated this during a courtesy visit by the French Government led by the Ambassador in charge of Migration at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Christophe Léonzi, stressed Nigeria's commitment to curbing illegal migration while fostering cooperation with global partners. Acknowledging migration as a natural phenomenon, Dr. Tunji-Ojo emphasised the government's stance against illegal migration, expressing Nigeria's willingness to support bilateral efforts to combat this challenge.  “An African problem is more of a European problem than an American or Asian problem because of our proximity. CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF HAS ORDERED IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION ON ALLEGATION OF LONG QUEUES OF TRUCKS & EXTORTION ALONG GAMBORU NGALA ROAD BORNO STATE.{PHOTO}.

      The Nigerian Army has noted with great concern about an allegation of complacency and extortion against soldiers by someone with twitter handle called “Danborno” on Social Media, in which he alleged long queues of trucks along Maiduguri-Gamboru Ngala road, Borno State He also alleged that each truck owner pays the sum of N300,000.00k to soldiers for escorting them. Consequent upon this, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai has ordered for immediate investigation over these allegations.

The Nigerian Army as a professional military institution thrives on discipline, selflessness and dedication to duty and operates within the confines of the laws, Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement. It would not tolerate any act of misdemeanour by any of its personnel. Similarly, we encourage members of the public to take advantage of our toll free telephone number 193 to report any observed lapses or allegation against any officer or soldier.
We would like to also call on the members of the public especially affected individuals in Borno State to cooperate and volunteer information to the investigation team.

 Punish my abusers within 48 hours or face lawsuit - Student bullied by her classmates threaten school authorities The bullied student of British Lead International School, Miss. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
