 Legendary actor Manoj Kumar dies at 87: ‘Roti Kapada Aur Makaan’ director breathes his last in Mumbai Manoj Kumar, the Bollywood actor and filmmaker, renowned for his patriotic films, passed away at the age of 87 at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The cause of his death was identified as cardiogenic shock due to acute myocardial infarction, according to medical reports. The medical reports confirmed that apart from a severe heart attack that took away his life, Manoj had been battling decompensated liver cirrhosis for the past few months, ANI reported. Following deteriorating health condition, he was admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025. Popularly known as ‘Bharat Kumar,’ Manoj Kumar was an exceptional director and actor who was honoured with National Film Award. OGUN CAUTIONS AGAINST BUYING UNAUTHENTICATED LAND.

     The Ogun State Government has advised prospective land buyers in the State to verify from the Ministry of Agriculture or Bureau of Lands & Survey, the authenticity of any land they are interested in purchasing before making payment to anyone.
The Commissioner for Agriculture, Mrs. Adepeju Adebajo, who stated this in a statement, said the verification was imperative to prevent prospective land buyers from being swindled by land grabbers who would deceitfully sell government land at a cheaper rate to them.
It added that the purchase of such land that falls under acquisition would not guarantee the buyer any legal right of ownership but results to waste of money or end up making multiple payments in form of punitive charges.
The statement also warned land grabbers to stop their illegal act of selling government land to the unsuspecting members of the public, as any of them caught would face the Anti-Land Grabbing Law of Ogun State.In the meantime, all investors on government acquired land for agriculture who have defaulted in the payment of Annual Ground Rent have been advised to update their payment in the Ministry of Agriculture before the end of March, 2018 or have their allocations revoked.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
