 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. SOUTH WEST STATES TO UNDERSTUDY EKITI STATE SUCCESS IN EDUCATION.{PHOTOS}.

      States in the Southwest geopolitical zone are to conduct a study of Ekiti State's successes in education for peer learning and adoption.
The process is to be conducted by the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission, the agency spearheading regional integration and cooperation among the states.
This was part of the communiqué issued at the end of the meeting of state governors in the region held in Ikeja, Lagos on Wednesday.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Ekiti State Governor, Mr Idowu Adelusi, the governors held that peer review in critical areas was necessary for the growth and actualisation of the potential of the region and her people.
Recall that Ekiti State came first in 2016 and 2017 National Examinations Council (NECO)-conducted exams, while it recorded 74 percent success in the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) among other educational feats.
Also, the states agreed to jointly bid for the concession of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and turn it to a world class infrastructure.
As a way of accelerating rice production and improve agriculture in the region, other states agreed to allocate 1000 hectares each to Lagos for rice production.
This is just as the Southwest governors formally admitted Lagos State into the Oodua Investment Limited.More photos below.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
