 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

    The current news in town is about the new flick,Talking Dolls,a contemporary drama,which was premiered in London months back,and is now set to hit the Nigerian cinemas from Friday,11 May,2018,The film,which was shot in London,Essex and Kent in November 2015,is rated 15 by the Greenwich Council,was highly rated by the audience as one of the best dramas of contemporary Africa,and has been described as an unpredictable kaleidoscope,thriller,and suspense,carefully built-up to a climactic epic finale.Produced by Marc Adebesin { Bluewaters Solutions},the movie was directed by Sukie Oduwole and it features notable stars such as Daniel K. Daniel,Belinda Effah,Tamara Komboye,Mofe Duncan,Mike Olaribigbe {Mikes Comedy},Yetunde Oduwole,Kunle Oladeji,Feona Mali,Natalie Deadman,Marie Gomez-Sarkis Olukunle Fafowora,QueenMonty,Adesegun Adeosun Jr and veteran actress,Victoria Inyama.Talking Dolls follows the lives of two colourful and opposite characters that find love and affection with each other and somehow lose more than they bargain for.It is a dark drama that vividly captures the emotional and psychological trauma that can lead a human being to contemplate the very worse of actions without regards to consequences.Linda {Belinda Effah} a young girl that has suffered serial abuse in the hands of the man she trusts most-her father.She runs away from home to live with Ade {Kunle Oladeji},a relative of her mother,in London City,but her life is not much better here,with her cousin and two of his flats mates.Linda soon leaves Ade's home and moves in with a girlfriend,Lace {Marie Gomez},a pragmatic and charismatic call-girl,who takes Linda under her wing as a fellow African lost in London.Despite subtle pressures from Lace,Linda refuses to imbibe her lifestyle,but instead finds a job as a book-keeper in a hair salon.For the first time in her life,Linda is in control of her destiny,when she meets and falls for George {Daniel K Daniel}.This sociological trauma is almost too much for Linda to bare,especially the discovery that she was only a mere sexual distraction for George for the past four years of their binge.In the resulting fiasco,the unexpected happens.Talking dolls is an unpredictable kaleidoscope of drams and suspense carefully built up to a climatic epic finale that critics and film audiences will not see coming.Talking dolls premiere was first held on 21 July 2017 in London and was an epic sold-out event,and is now ready for similar acceptance in Nigeria.
