 A 13-year-old boy lost his life after he was attacked by three large dogs while riding his bicycle. This tragic incident occurred January 3rd on the 100 block of Upper Sandy Cove Road in Welshtown, Nova Scotia, Canada.  On that day, 13-year-old Drew Nickerson, was enjoying the day by riding his bike through the neighborhood. As Drew rode his bike down the road, two large Cane Corsos and a Rottweiler came running out into the road from a nearby residence. The three dogs then began to viciously attack Drew. The attack left the young boy bleeding in the roadway and suffering from serious injuries.  Upon discovering Drew severely injured in the roadway, one of the owners of the dogs loaded Drew into their vehicle and rushed him to a nearby hospital.  Drew was then airlifted to a hospital in Halifax, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries on January 5th. ORTOM SYMPATHIZES WITH GBOKO MARKET FIRE VICTIMS TODAY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has directed the Bureau of Internal Affairs to hasten the establishment of fire service units in major towns of the state.
Governor Ortom gave the directive today when he visited Gboko Main Market to sympathise with traders whose property were destroyed by fire yesterday.
The Governor who said the measure has become necessary to prevent fire incidents in the state, advised traders' unions to liaise with local government councils to sink boreholes around markets
Governor Ortom stated that the Gboko fire market inferno which he learnt was caused by electricity upsurge, would be investigated with a view to preventing future occurrences.
While advising the traders in the market to ensure that fire extinguishers are provided in their shops, the Governor also urged them to henceforth get professionals to carry out the electrification of the market.
He announced government's donation of N20 million to the affected traders to help mitigate the effect of the damage.
In her remark, the Chairman of Gboko Local Government, Mrs. Becky Orpin expressed appreciation to Governor Ortom for promptly going to sympathize with the traders over the destruction and appealed for the installation of fire service facilities at the market.Earlier, Chairman Gboko Main Market Traders Association, GBOMATA, Mr. Matthew Amauche narrated that the incident was caused by electricity upsurge and thanked Governor Ortom for coming to sympathize with them.
