 Sudan urges displaced citizens abroad to return home Sudan has called on all displaced citizens living abroad to return home, as the government steps up efforts to facilitate voluntary repatriation and remove barriers facing returnees. Prime Minister Kamil Idris said his office is committed to easing the return process and ensuring citizens can actively contribute to rebuilding the country, state media SUNA reports. Speaking during a visit to the Ashkeit border crossing in Wadi Halfa, Idris said authorities have taken steps to eliminate illegal levies and ensure that returning citizens are not subjected to additional fees, compulsory charges or arbitrary customs duties. He noted that such practices had previously placed an unnecessary burden on citizens without benefiting the state. ORTOM CHARGES SECURITY AGENTS TO FISH OUT PERPETRATORS OF ABINSI CRISIS.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Governor Samuel Ortom has charged security agencies to fish out perpetrators of Abinsi crisis in Guma Local Government Area which resulted to burning down of houses yesterday.
He gave the charge today during a stopover at Abinsi where he addressed residents in company of security agents.
The Governor frowned at the ugly incidence which he lamented happened few days after himself and his Taraba State Counterpart, Arch. Darius Ishaku, Tor Tiv, Professor James Ayatse and Aku Uka, Chief Shakarau Angyu, as well as Archbishop Ignatius Kaigamu and Rev. Fr. James Bature agreed to live together peacefully between Tiv and Jukun.
He stated that the incidence was a blatant disrespect to the government and traditional institution in the state, pointing out that those who burnt houses must also be apprehended and punished to serve as deterrent to others.
The Governor stated that residents of Abinsi must live together peacefully irrespective of ethnicity, stressing that the area would not be allowed to be harbouring criminals under his administration.
He charged the traditional rulers in the area to identify the perpetrators and hand them over to security agents for prosecution, adding that any traditional ruler found culpable would be dethroned.
The Governor promised to constitute a committee that would investigate the root cause of the crisis for immediate government action.
He commended the Police Commissioner in the state, Commanders and men of Operations Whirl Stroke and Python Dance for their swift intervention which he noted prevented the crisis from spreading, even as he solicited for calm among residents.
District Head of Abinsi, Chief Christopher Bake had explained that the crisis started between two unidentified young men which later snowballed into burning of houses.
