 Niger says soldiers, civilians killed in armed attack on Niamey airport An attack by armed men on an airport in Niger’s capital has killed 11 soldiers and two civilians, according to the country’s defence ministry, five months after a major assault. Twenty-two armed attackers were also killed in the assault and about 20 suspects were apprehended, the ministry added in a press statement read out on national television on Thursday, Al Jazeera reported. Soldiers in Niamey fought suspected rebels around the Diori Hamani International Airport and a military airbase on Thursday, sources told Al Jazeera earlier in the day. A source said gunmen affiliated with an armed group attacked at approximately 6:00am (05:00 GMT) local time. One airport employee who lives near the airport told Al Jazeera he heard heavy exchanges of gunfire and saw a large military deployment as he drove towards work and decided to turn back for safety. A MAN KILLED HIS FATHER IN ANAMBRA STATE+SETS HIS CORPSE ABLAZE.{PHOTO}.

     The police in Anambra state are currently on the trail of a 24-year-old man identified as Abuchi Onuorah, for allegedly killing his 65-year-old father, Onyiauke Onuorah, in Nando, in the Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State and setting the corpse ablaze.
A family member said Abuchi killed his father over suspicion that he was responsible for the death of his 51-year-old mother.
“The deceased was killed by his son. He claimed that his father was responsible for the death of his 51-year-old mother, Okwundu Onuorah. The deceased was alleged to have used diabolical powers to inflict disease on his wife for flouting his order not to attend the Omugwo (maternity treat) of their daughter, who was recently delivered of a baby. Onyiauke threatened his wife that if she went for their daughter’s Omugwo at Nteje, she would not come back alive. But the wife went against his order.
During the visit, she was struck by a strange ailment and she died two days later. Before her death, the woman revealed to her children how their father threatened to kill her through diabolical means if she dared to visit their sister that put to bed. So, when she eventually died and the message got to her children, one of her sons, Abuchi, dashed to their father’s room, dismembered him with a cutlass and poured petrol on his remains and set them on fire'' Family member
