 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.     The attention of the Lagos State Safety Commission has been drawn to the #NativeLand19 concert which was held at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos recently and the unpleasant incidents that followed the concert.
Firstly, the Commission expresses sympathy with everyone who was injured, lost properties and had their enjoyment disrupted at the NativeLand19 concert. The Commission has commenced a full investigation will reach out to all parties involved in due course.
Secondly, the Commission wishes to notify the public that organizers of the event did not notify the Commission and did not put in place adequate safety measures nor obtain Safety Compliance Certificate from the Commission.
The Commission if using this medium to reiterate zero tolerance for event organizers, show promoters and venue owners who disregard health and safety measures at the detriment of the interest of the general public.
In line with the Lagos State Safety Commission Act, all events must be brought to the attention of the Commission before the date of the event and events without Safety Compliance Certificates will be shut down.
Lagosians are implored to report all safety infractions noticed to the Lagos State Safety Commission at Block 18b 2nd & 3rd Floor Secretariat, Alausa.
