 U.S Finalizes $20,000 Visa Bond Policy Affecting Nigeria and 49 Other Nations The United States government has officially formalized its visa bond policy, making it a permanent measure that could require travelers from 50 designated countries, including Nigeria, to pay a refundable bond of up to $20,000 before receiving certain visas. First introduced as a pilot scheme in 2025, the policy targets applicants seeking B1 and B2 visas, which are designated for business and tourism. According to the U.S. Department of State, the initiative is designed to bolster compliance with local immigration laws and drastically reduce visa overstay rates.      The Duke of Cambridge is in Kuwait and Oman this week, on a Royal Visit which will pay tribute to the historic ties Britain shares with the two countries.
🌍 On the first day of his official visit to Kuwait, His Royal Highness learned more about Kuwait’s ambitious plans to protect its natural environment from human and environmental challenges, as well as how the country is engaging and educating young Kuwaitis in innovative ways across a range of areas, from space exploration and robotics to natural history and human biology.
🍃 At the Jahra Nature Reserve The Duke joined scientists on the reserve’s salt marshes, reed beds and sandy sabkha flats for activities studying the wetlands’ wildlife, before visiting the Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre to see how they are engaging young Kuwaitis in innovative ways across a range of areas, from space exploration and robotics to natural history and human biology.
🏛At the Bayan Palace, The Duke of Cambridge attended an official meeting with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
⛺️ In a traditional Kuwaiti tent in the desert outside of Kuwait City, The Duke of Cambridge joined young Kuwaitis later in the evening for a special event to experience what makes rural Kuwaiti culture so unique.
