 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. PDP Condoles Ben Murray-Bruce Over Wife’s Death
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deeply commiserates with the founder of Silverbird Group and outstanding nationalist, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, over the death of his amiable wife, Evelyn.
The PDP described the death of Evelyn Murray-Bruce as heartrending and devastating.
Indeed, Evelyn’s death is a huge blow and irreparable loss not only to the Bruce family, but also to the PDP, the people of Bayelsa state and the nation at large, given her roles and sacrifices towards the development of humanity.
Despite her challenges and eventual death, Evelyn Murray-Bruce radiated life, love, happiness and piety. She was a dutiful wife, dedicated mother; a good soul and epitome of humility, honesty, hardwork and exceptional philanthropy and hospitality.
She was an exemplary companion who stood as a pillar behind her husband in his selfless service towards the development of our nation as a political leader, nationalist, legislator, businessman and philanthropist.
Though we mourn, we find solace in the fact that she lived as a devout Christian and dedicated her life to the service of God, the good of humanity and now rests in the bosom of the Lord.
The PDP therefore consoles Senator Ben-Murray Bruce, the entire Bruce family, the Silverbird family as well as the government and people of Bayesla state and prays God to grant us all the fortitude to bear this painful loss.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
