  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. COVID-19: NASARAWA LIFTS BAN ON WORSHIP CENTRES FOR TWO WEEKS.[PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Nasarawa State Government has announced the lifting on the ban on Mosques and Churches for a period of two weeks.
This was part of the resolutions arrived at during the critical stakeholders meeting to review measures put in place to combat the further spread of the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic, which held at the Government House, on Tuesday.
State Commissioner for Information, Tourism and Culture, Comrade Dogo Shammah, who chaired the press briefing at the end of the meeting however gave conditions for the opening of Mosques and Churches in the state.
Imams and clergies have been mandated to ensure strict compliance to regulations put in place to enable the opening of worship centres.
Specifically, they are to ensure that social distancing, the use of face masks and frequent washing of hands with sanitizers by all those attending either the Mosques or Churches.
Comrade Shammah said the lifting of the ban will be reviewed at the end of the two weeks, based on the compliance with the stipulated guidelines.
