 HERDSMEN KILL DRIVER ON HUMANITARIAN MISSION IN TARABA STATE  10th January, 2026      A commercial driver, Mr. Amishe Omeny, has been killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen while on a humanitarian visit to a displaced community in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State. The deceased, from Tse Amise after Tseem, was reportedly attacked on Friday within Chanchanji Ward as he travelled to Adokia, a displaced settlement located after Tseem Sabe. He was said to have gone to the area to assist villagers with the transportation of foodstuffs. Sources in the community told Benue Info-pedia, that Omeny volunteered his services as a driver to support residents affected by ongoing insecurity, when he was ambushed and killed by the assailants. The killing has sparked grief and outrage among residents, who described the incident as tragic and senseless. LASEPA SUPERVISES SAFETY COMPLIANCE LEVEL AT FIRST LAGOS DRIVE-IN CONCERT.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), on Saturday, supervised the hosting of a premier and innovative drive-in concert in the State, organised by Lapazio Lifestyles and Entertainment Group at the Bay Lounge, Admiralty Way, Lekki.
The Concert, according to the Agency's General Manager, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, was given the green light and adequately supervised for total compliance with all stipulated safety guidelines as the State government begins to ease the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and safely reinvigorate the entertainment landscape after a long break.
She said “The drive-in concert event is globally accepted as a new model for hosting safe entertainment events. Lagos, being a prime destination of entertainment and leisure events in Africa, should not be left behind in this new trend that ensures that fans connect with their favourite musicians or idols without breaking COVID-19 safety and environmental regulations”.
“Society benefits from entertainment; it adds structure to our social lives. Our goal is to ensure that the entertainment world can operate in a safe and healthy environment to create lasting positive memories, as we adjust to the post COVID-19 lifestyle”, Fasawe explained.
The General Manager noted that though the event was successful, there is still room for improvement as the agency intends to do a thorough evaluation of the event and, subsequently come up with a more robust plan for the future while extending the scheme to other relevant sectors.
“Our goal is to support the entertainment sector, in tandem with outlined social distancing and environmental protocols, which will attract heavy sanction, if violated or defaulted flagrantly, to serve as a deterrent to others”, she asserted.
While describing the event as a test run for the new normal, Fasawe stressed that the success recorded with the event would be a win for all and a guide for future events in the State.
She reaffirmed that Lagos places a high premium on the lives of all its residents, thus, the need to adopt new approaches that safeguard the citizenry.
The event had about 50 vehicles in attendance parked in line with physical distancing guidelines recommended by the government and attendees were safely seated in their vehicles enjoying the tunes of popular musician Mayokun within the marked spaces.
It was supervised by officers of LASEPA Lekki Zonal Office, led by Yetunde Atoyebi, in line with the monitoring guidelines and mandate of the Agency.More photos below.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
