 BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour. EFCC ARRESTS 10 SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUDSTERS IN PORT HARCOURT.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 arrested 10 suspected internet fraudsters ìn two different locations in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The suspects: Eberechi Kelvin; Promise Amadi; Golden Wopara; Abraham Okparuelu; Godwin Omeh; Iheanacho Chigaemezu; Paul Effiong; Nelson Uwoajgeaga, Samuel Collins and Meshack Aniekan were arrested at God City Estate, Rumualgu, and Number 23, Sam Mba Close, off N.T.A., Akparale Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
They were arrested following verified intelligence about their suspicious involvement in internet- related fraud.
Items recovered from them include: a blue- coloured Toyota Sienna XLE 2006 bus, a black- coloured Mercedes Benz C240 car and an ash-coloured Toyota Camry car. Others are: 11mobile phone devices, four laptops, Automated Teller Machine( ATM) cards , 1 power bank and 1 bluetooth speaker.
The suspects would be charged to Court as soon as investigation is concluded.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
