OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. ANAMBRA STATE GOVT RECIEVES DISPLACED NDI ANAMBRA FROM JOS,PLATEAU STATE.{PHOTOS}.

In keeping to its commitment of securing life and property of ndi Anambra and true to its promise, the government of Anambra State has today, Friday, 3rd September, 2021, received ndi Anambra who returned from Jos, Plateau State, following the abrupt closure of the University of Jos by the authorities due to the communal crises in Plateau State. 


The evacuees were received by a state government delegation led by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenement, Mr. C. Don Adinuba at  the GUO park in Awka.


Recall that on August, 24, 2021, the State government had announced plans to evacuate ndi Anambra who are stranded in Jos.


For greater efficiency, the evacuation was handled by Anambra State Liaison Office, Abuja and GUO Transport Company.


Recieving the students on behalf of the State government, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. C. Don Adinuba revealed that the contingent is the third set of evacuees from Jos, but the first set from GUO, stressing that Governor Willie Obiano had directed that every Anambra indigene who feels his or her life is threatened is free to come home, assuring that the state government is prepared to pay for their transport fare.
