 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE: IGP PAYS HISTORIC VISIT TO CHIEF JUSTICE OF NIGERIA


- solidifies synergy for more effective Criminal Justice System.
 
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, fdc, and members of the Force Management Team, on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, CFR, in his office at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Abuja.

The visit was aimed at solidifying the synergy between the Police and the Judiciary as key players in the Criminal Justice System of the nation with a view to ensuring a smooth and efficient dispensation of justice. The IGP equally sought the collaboration of the CJN in accrediting the legal department of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State to enable its graduates proceed for further studies at the Nigerian Law School. The IGP emphasized that this will ensure the Police have more lawyers within its pool to strengthen its prosecutorial duties and hopefully produce more Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) in the future.

The CJN appreciated the visit which was the first of its kind ever by a sitting IGP. The CJN equally commended the IGP for his thoughtfulness and expressed readiness to continually partner with the Nigeria Police Force for seamless justice administration.

The Inspector-General of Police emphasized the inclination of his administration to upholding the sanctity of the Criminal Justice System and rule of law which is vital to professionalism and citizen-based policing.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
