Enugwu-Ukwu Community Bids Farewell To Former Anambra State Commissioner For Information, Late Chief Charles Amilo.
Enugwu-Ukwu community in Njikoka LGA, Anambra State today, Friday, 4th March, 2022, paid their last respect to Anambra State former Commissioner for Information and Culture, late Chief Charles Amilo.
The burial ceremony which took place at his hometown, Umuezu Awovu Village, Enugwu-Ukwu was well attended by in-laws, relatives, friends and government functionaries, notable among whom were Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano represented by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. C-Don Adinuba, the Minister of Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige, Anambra State Representative, Federal Character Commision, Honourable Uche Iheabuchi and other members of the Royal cabinet members of Enugwu-Ukwu.
Late Chief Amilo who died at the age of 76, after a brief illness was until his death, the chairman, Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, and a member of Enugwu-Ukwu Royal Cabinet where he chaired the Agricultural Commission of the Community.
He was a philanthropist and renowned for his good works in his Hometown and Anambra state at large.
In a homily, the Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Jonas-Benson Okoye, described the deceased as a good man and a lover of God.
Most Reverend Okoye urged everyone to have sober reflection and seek for God’s grace, saying no one knows when they will be called by God.
For the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu, Igwe Ralph Ekpe, the deceased was courageous and a man of discipline.
Igwe Ekpeh advised his family to emulate the good deeds of their father which is the best way of immortalizing the deceased.
In his condolence message to the bereaved family, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Uche Nworah asked the family of the deceased to be consoled in the fact that their late father was a family figure who devoted his life to servicing his country and revealed that ABS shares in their greave and prayed God to grant him a comfortable resting place in heaven.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the son of the deceased, Dr Chizoba Amilo appreciated all for their support, visits and prayed for God to grant all journey mercy.
