 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. HOPE UZODIMMA BAGS SUN GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR AWARD


The prestigious SUN Award held yesterday at the Eko Hotels and Suites Lagos, recognizes personalities with outstanding performance in public and private sector services. 

At the 19th Annual Awards, His Excellency, the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma was decorated with the "GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR AWARD" for his outstanding performance so far in the restructuring of Imo State despite challenges confronting his administration.

During the citation on His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma was described as a silent achiever who embarked on infrastructural remodeling of Imo State from the ruins it was before.

The Organizers took into account, the steadfastness of the Shared Prosperity administration in various areas vis-a-vis the Road Construction; Educational Development; Agricultural Growth; Industrialization Drive; Economic Stability amongst other indices.

While this serves as a commendation for good service to the people, His Excellency takes it as an encouragement to deliver more to the good people of Imo State.
