 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. WHO Advocates Physical Exercise As Panacea For Sickness 



The World Health Organization, WHO, has advocated physical exercise as solution to the high burden of diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer, and other chronic diseases.

The WHO Country representative, Dr Walter Mulumbo who stated this at the third edition of the global “Walk the Talk” health challenge exercise in the FCT metropolis, said, the Health for All Challenge event is aimed at raising awareness on health issues and the need for exercises that promote healthy lifestyle.

He said ‘’Walk the Talk’’ movement is a practical example of exhibiting WHO’s advice to the world to promote health.

Dr. Mulumbo, further explained that ‘’Walk the Talk’’ initiative is not a fitness competition but an opportunity to develop a healthy lifestyle for the good of society.

The WHO country representative stressed that the theme for this year’s world health day is focused on health for peace and peace for health.

The third edition of Walk the Talk: "The Health for All Challenge" was organised by the World Health Organization in Nigeria, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health and their partners.
