 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. Anambra State Government Continues Onslaught Against Illegal Structures, Shanties In Onitsha



Government of Anambra State has continued the demolition of illegal structures and shanties at Fegge, Onitsha.

The taskforce arrived Akunnia Ojote waterways at Fegge around some minutes past eleven am.

On arrival, it was observed that some residents around the area built on waterways which has over the time caused water to pass through wrong channels thereby destroying people's properties and lives risked.

Speaking to the press, some of the residents including Mr. Louis Mbanefo expressed happiness over government efforts to tackle the issue of flood in the area.

They called on government not to relent in the good work they have started.

Recall that the exercise commenced yesterday where many structures were pulled down in the resolve of the present administration to keep Anambra environment sane.
