 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. Anambra State Governor; Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly; Rt Hon Uche Okafor Episani and principal members of the house, members of Anambra State Executive Council and relatives, earlier today were at St Patrick Catholic Church Isuofia.

The funeral mass was celebrated by Cardinal Ebere Okpalaeke who lamented the wickedness that has  overtaken the world that some people don't have any value anymore for human lives.

The eldest of the Okoye family; Mr Emmanuel Okoye thanked those that squeezed time out of their busy schedules to honour Late Hon Okechukwu Okoye and commiserate with the family at this critical time.

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo assured the family that all the culprits to this horrible act must be brought to book.

He further appealed to Anambra State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt Dr Hon Uche Okafor Episani to ensure they remember to support the immediate family of their late honourable colleague.

He added that the state government under his leadership will continue their onslaught against criminal elements, kidnapping syndicate who now trades on human blood to make money. He equally assured of his support to the family.

May the soul of Late Hon Okechukwu Okoye rest in the bosom of the Lord.
