 A Limpopo man who stabbed his girlfriend to death in front of his own mother will spend the next 20 years in prison. The Polokwane High Court sentenced 48 year old Nathaniel Molatelo Mokgehle from Sekonye Village in the Botlokwa policing area for the murder of his girlfriend, 41 year old Mokgadi Julia Mohlaela. The court heard he chased her out of the house and continued stabbing her until she collapsed and died. Mokgehle also received six months for malicious damage to property. The sentence will run at the same time as the 20 year murder sentence. Evidence presented in court showed the victim had previously opened a malicious damage to property case against him. He was still attending court for that case when the murder happened. The attack happened on 08 June 2025 around 16:00 at his mother’s home in Sekonye Village.  RUMORED PLANNED ATTACK ON LAGOS STATE CP ALABI ASSURES LAGOSIANS OF ADEQUATE SECURITY

The Lagos State Police Command is not unmindful of

intelligence reports suggesting that Lagos State could be
on the radar of some persons planning attacks across the

country.

To this end, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State

Command, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc has placed the State
Intelligence Bureau (SIB) of the Command on high alert

alongside all rea Commanders, Divisional Police Officers
and Tactical Commanders, all in a bid to ensure that any
possible planned attack is promptly and decisively nipped

in the bud.

The Command is also working closely with sister security
agencies to ensure that no person or group of persons
succeed in destabilizing the peace and serenity enjoyed
by the good people of Lagos State.

CP Alabi uses this medium to allay the fears of Lagosians

and assure them that all human, material and operational
resources have been fully and optimally deployed across

the length and breadth of the state, especially at border
towns, towards ensuring there is absolutely no breach of

peace

Consequet upon the carefully laid down security plans/
strategies, all residents of Lagos State are urged to go
about their lawtul duties without panic or fear. Lagosians
are equally enjoined to remain very vigilant and report

SUspicious movements and persons to security agencies.
