 A Limpopo man who stabbed his girlfriend to death in front of his own mother will spend the next 20 years in prison. The Polokwane High Court sentenced 48 year old Nathaniel Molatelo Mokgehle from Sekonye Village in the Botlokwa policing area for the murder of his girlfriend, 41 year old Mokgadi Julia Mohlaela. The court heard he chased her out of the house and continued stabbing her until she collapsed and died. Mokgehle also received six months for malicious damage to property. The sentence will run at the same time as the 20 year murder sentence. Evidence presented in court showed the victim had previously opened a malicious damage to property case against him. He was still attending court for that case when the murder happened. The attack happened on 08 June 2025 around 16:00 at his mother’s home in Sekonye Village. THEATRE COMMANDER OPHK COMMISSIONS INFRASTRUCTURAL PROJECTS IN GIWA BARRACKS


The Theatre Commander, Major General Christopher Musa has on Friday, 29 July 2022 commissioned a Borehole Water System at 21 Special Armoured Brigade Medical Reception Station (MRS) as well as a newly renovated Brigade Commander's Guest House in Giwa Barracks.

In his remarks, the Theatre Commander lauded the Commander 5 Brigade, Brigadier General GO Olorunyomi for embarking on projects geared towards improving the welfare of the barracks community. In his address to barrack women, he encouraged the entire barrack community to imbibe good maintenance culture and utilize the project appropriately.

While assuring the public of the military's commitment and resilience in ending the war against terrorism, Maj Gen Musa urged barrack women to continue to support their spouses and the military in general. In his words he said, "your support means a lot to us, at most times it is our primary morale booster and the knowledge of it keeps us going and pushing hard".

Highlight of the event was the visit to the MRS, assessment tour of the barracks, presentation of plaquea and cash donation to barrack women.
